In this video course, learn how to make a beautiful pressed flower picture. Before the days of Internet, television or even radio, the pastime of making floral designs from pressed flowers was practiced by people of all ages and helped them appreciate botany and design. You will learn the steps to selecting, processing, and designing your own pressed flower picture. A kit containing a four-inch square flower press, 8 by 10-inch frame, heavy weight paper, glue, tweezers and stones will be mailed to you after you enroll and open the course. Participants can enjoy being outdoors by collecting and dry pressing their own flowers, petals and leaves as part of the process. Materials take about four weeks until dry and ready for framing. This course and corresponding project are recommended for people ages 7 and up.
